Sanitation and safety
Routine when done to the standard. Here is how we do it.
- AWWA C652 disinfection procedures on every job.
- Inspections follow AWWA D101 and Manual M42.
- Diving per OSHA 29 CFR 1910 Subpart T and ADC standards.
- Potable-water-only equipment, disinfected with 200 ppm chlorine before entry.
- Sealed drysuit and helmet, surface-supplied air, hardwired comms.
- Chlorine residual maintained throughout. Regulator notification coordinated with you.

Questions operators ask
Is it safe to put a diver in drinking water?
Yes. The diver wears a sealed drysuit and helmet on surface-supplied air, so no skin touches the water. Diver and equipment are disinfected with a 200 ppm chlorine solution before entry per AWWA C652, and the gear is used only in potable water.
Does the tank have to be drained or taken offline?
No. The tank stays full and connected the whole time. You keep your storage, pressure, and fire flow.
How long does a typical tank take?
Most tanks are cleaned and inspected in one day on site. We confirm the estimate with your quote.
Will cleaning make the water cloudy?
The vacuum pulls sediment out of the tank rather than stirring it up. Minor, short-lived turbidity near the floor is possible with heavy deposits, and we coordinate timing with your operator.
What do we receive after the dive?
Narrated video, a photo log, sediment depth records, before and after photos, and a written report with prioritized recommendations.
How often should a tank be cleaned and inspected?
AWWA guidance points to inspection every three to five years and cleaning as sediment builds. Utah sanitary surveys run every three years (R309-100), and current tank records make them go smoothly.
Do you work with government purchasing and bids?
Yes. We take federal, municipal, and private bids, provide formal quotes, and work from purchase orders.
